During my summer with 84.51°, I worked alongside the design systems team to bring consistency, clarity, and a little spark to complex user interfaces. Here’s a look at some of the highlights from my time there, where no pixel was left unpolished!
Experience Design Intern
Cincinnati, Ohio
“Being a part of Meridian, the design systems team, meant an ever-changing workload and new projects arising on the daily.”
Component Creation
Date Picker
This project was my first independent design task, where I built a fully functional date picker component from the ground up. Focused on creating a seamless user experience, I developed the component with composability and usability in mind, ensuring it aligned with the Meridian design system.
Changelog
Pattern Development
To address the need for better visibility and accountability, I contributed to designing and developing a changelog pattern to track and highlight client activity. By prioritizing clarity and simplicity, we created a streamlined and intuitive pattern that fit seamlessly within the existing design system. A key consideration was ensuring the pattern’s composability, so it could be easily adapted to the diverse use cases it would support.
Docsite Redesign
Homepage
For this project, I headed up a homepage redesign for the Meridian team’s documentation site. The main focus was to prominently feature new releases to enhance cross-team visibility and awareness. By strategically displaying these updates, we aimed to ensure that all teams stayed informed about important changes and improvements, fostering better communication and collaboration across the platform.
